BCS Updates: BCS will continue with the dress code that was revised before the start of the school year last year (7/15/2024). Also, the BCS BOE will discuss a revision in policy to address the recent legislation act passed in May, known as the FOCUS ACT. This prohibits the use of personal electronic devices during the instructional day. This will be looked at at the next board meeting which is Monday, July 28, at 5 p.m. in the BCS Board Room.
The beginning of school is approaching fast! Here are the dates for upcoming events.

The Alabama Sales Tax Holiday will take place this Friday and Saturday. But just a reminder that the Brewton City Schools School Board has graciously approved that School Supply Kits for all BCS grades (Pre-K through 12) will be purchased this year for all students.
They will be given out on the first day of school.
Students taking art and other special area classes may need other items and fees to pay. Please reach out to your individual school for more information.
Also, just a reminder as well, that BES and BMS will continue to participate in the CEP program for the 2025-2026 school year. Students will receive free breakfast and lunch through this program.

The Alabama State Department of Education needs your input! Please take a moment to complete the mandatory Alabama Parent Survey — it only has 8 short questions and helps improve services for students with disabilities. The survey is for all parents of students ages 3-21 with an Individualized Education Program (IEP). https://www.research.net/r/AL_Parent25
Please contact Dr. Maegan Ford at 251-236-3902 if you have any questions.
